Hartlepool United v Solihull Moors
National League
Tuesday 5th November 2019
Victoria Park

In Opposition

Solihull Moors have recovered from a tricky September to start climbing the National League table and once again look likely to be one of the contenders for promotion.

Tim Flowers has been allowed to strengthen his squad during

the summer and there is genuine ambition from the club's owners to reach the

EFL on the back of investment on and off the pitch.

After winning four of their first five this term, The Moors

lost their way a little bit but have quickly regained some momentum and their

weekend win over Dagenham & Redbridge took them ninth in the table.

They have been outstanding on their own patch this season,

winning eight of their nine games at Damson Park so far – they've not had it so

easy on their travels though, with only one victory to their name away from

home.

One To Watch

The signing of Paul McCallum was a real statement of intent from Solihull Moors, as they made their move to lure Eastleigh's top scorer away to Damson Park.

The 26-year-old smashed 27 goals as The Spitfires gate-crashed the National League play-offs last season and the front man was highly sought after during the summer.

He's already hit the net five times for The Moors in 2019/20 too, including the winner in Saturday's 2-1 triumph over Dagenham & Redbridge.
