Pools Chairman Raj Singh has expressed his delight after being shortlisted for a prestigious prize at the upcoming Hartlepool Business Awards.
Singh is included in the list of nominees for Business Leader of the Year at the event, which is set to take place at The Borough Hall on Thursday evening.
The nomination comes just over a year after he successfully completed his takeover at The Super 6 Stadium and safeguarded the future of the Club.
“I’m really surprised and honoured to have been shortlisted for the award,” admitted Singh.
“I have been in the North East all my life and when I left school I went straight in to business at 17-years-old so this is my way of giving something back to the community.
“Doing that, and helping to create jobs in my local area, is something that has always given me great satisfaction and it continues to do so.
“Hartlepool is a footballing town, the people here love their football and are desperate for success. If we can provide that to them then we know they will turn out in their numbers.”
