South East Poolies Raise Funds For Youth Team

15 July 2019

Pools Youth Team will be looking the part as they play their debut season in the National Youth Alliance in 2019/20 thanks to the generosity of a supporters' group.

South East Poolies raised in excess of £1,000 through a number of ventures during the course of last season and have now donated that towards the cost of Youth Team kit for the upcoming campaign.

A small branch of Pools supporters who regularly attend our many southern fixtures, South East Poolies have gone from strength to strength in recent years and have recently stepped up their fundraising.

“I've had the pleasure of meeting members of the South East Poolies on a few occasions during the last year and it's safe to say their commitment and passion for the Club is humbling,” said Chief Executive Mark Maguire.

“They have been raising funds through various activities throughout the year and their donation will assist us in purchasing kit and, as a thank you, we're looking at getting their name on the back of the shirts.

“It's particularly important this year in the context of the tough decisions we have made regarding the restructure of our Youth Development department and we are now looking forward to a successful season in the National Youth Alliance.”

Stu Miller, one of the founder members of South East Poolies, added: “As a group, we realised how close we were to losing the Club that we love and the need for us to work even harder to back the owners.

“We set out to raise about £500 to help with the Youth Team but, unbelievably, through the generosity of not just our members but Pools fans in general, we beat that target comfortably.

“We will, of course, be working hard to raise as much as possible throughout the coming season and hope to be able to donate again in the future.”
