We are delighted to announce that our latest player advocate is Nathan Sheron. At Her Game Too, we are really proud to have the support of professional advocates working as players and managers, who are crucial in championing the message of equality.
Their influential voices and visible positions can challenge longstanding stereotypes and inspire widespread change both within football and in broader society.
By standing in solidarity with Her Game Too and promoting equal opportunities, they help to foster a more inclusive environment, ensuring that the message of equality reaches a diverse and extensive audience.
Furthermore, they serve as positive role models to fans who might not yet believe in gender equality in football, demonstrating through their actions and words that fairness and inclusivity are fundamental values that enhance the entire footballing community. By working together alongside our male allies, we can break down barriers, challenge stereotypes and promote gender equality.
On taking up the role, Sheron added: “I’m really proud to become the HerGameToo advocate for Hartlepool United.
“Having a young daughter myself, I want her to grow up in a world where women’s sport is respected and valued equally.
“I want her to have the same opportunities, confidence and support to play the game we all love, as football is a game for everyone.
“My wife regularly comes to Hartlepool games with our two children, so it’s important to me that football is a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience.”
