The Hart of our Club 1908’s Christmas gift appeal saw thousands of donations distributed to charities in Hartlepool and the surrounding area.
Donations were received over the last month from the local community and the Teesside Charity Foundation, stemming from cash donations, presents and chocolates.
A number of charities have benefited from the collection, with gifts going to the following:
• Harbour Refuge
• Woman’s Refuge
• Hartlepool Civic Children’s Hub
• Hartlepool Baby Bank
• ABC Counselling Services
• Queens Meadow Care Home
• Merlin Manor Care Home
• Clifton Lodge Care Home
• Seaton Hall Care Home
“This year’s campaign has been a huge success,” commented Hart of our Club 1908.
“We have been overwhelmed with the generosity that has been shown towards the campaign. The number of donations has been staggering and has made this year’s appeal the most successful to date.
“You really do understand how much it means to the local charities when they receive the gifts. It stems from toys for the children’s homes, to chocolates for the elderly amongst the various care homes in the community.
“This is our fourth year running the appeal and the support from fans continues to grow. We cannot thank the supporters enough for their generosity.”
Harbour Refuge, one of the charities that received gifts from the campaign, also commented on the generosity of the local community.
“We would like to thank Hart of our Club 1908 and Hartlepool United, alongside the supporters, for their generous donation of toys,” the charity stated.
“Christmas can be a difficult time for the families we work with. Your generosity will help us try to make this Christmas as special as possible!
“We hope everyone has a safe and peaceful festive period, thanks once again for your support.”
Rose Stoker, Hartlepool United Commercial and Operations Director, issued a final message thanking the Club’s supporters.
“It’s great to be able to help charities who need support around this time of year,” she said.
“The festive period can be difficult for a number of people, so we promise to do all we can to help the local community.
“Our supporters and the Teesside Charity Foundation have been fantastic, handing in an incredible amount of donations, as have the Club’s staff and Hart of our Club 1908 in facilitating the appeal.
“We wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year.”
