Josh Mazfari extends contract

Young goalkeeper Josh Mazfari has signed a contract extension with Pools and joined Redcar Athletic on loan for the 2024/25 season.

The 19-year-old arrived at Pools in September and spent the second half of last season on loan at Shildon, helping the Railwaymen into the Northern League Division One play-offs.

Now Mazfari, who has previous experience with England Schoolboys and Huddersfield Town, will head to Redcar Athletic while continuing to train full-time with Pools.

Ahead of the upcoming season, Mazfari stated:
“I’m really pleased to continue my stay at Pools – I learnt a lot last year from being around the first team environment. My time out on loan developed me further and it was pleasing to get regular minutes, so hopefully my time at Redcar will be similar this season. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming campaign.”
