Josh Donaldson joins Hebburn Town on Loan

Hartlepool United can confirm that Josh Donaldson has joined National League North side Hebburn Town on loan until January 2027.

The move will see the 20-year-old striker continue his development through regular senior first-team football.

Donaldson joined Pools in July 2025 following his departure from Newcastle United, having progressed through the Magpies’ Academy and featured in both the U18 Premier League and Premier League 2.

The Gateshead-born forward earned a contract at Victoria Park after impressing during a successful trial period in pre-season, scoring against a Leeds United XI and featuring in friendlies against Rangers and Redcar Athletic.

He enjoyed a productive loan spell with Dunston UTS during the 2025/26 season, scoring 13 goals in 26 appearances as the side challenged at the top end of the Northern Premier League Division One East.

Donaldson will now spend the first half of the 2026/27 campaign with Hebburn Town and, as part of the loan agreement, will remain eligible to represent Hartlepool United in National League Cup fixtures throughout his time with the Hornets.
