Her Game Too fixture announced

Her Game Too Hartlepool are delighted to announce this season’s dedicated match will take place at the Prestige Group Stadium on 7th March.

This date is chosen as it’s the closest fixture to International Women’s Day on the 8th March. The theme for IWD 2026 is ‘Give to Gain’, which encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration.

Whether through donations, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring or time, contributing to women’s advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.

A dedicated fixture is a chance to join forces with our partner clubs, champion women and girls in sport, and amplify our Her Game Too campaign.

This will be our 4th event at HUFC and promises to be another fantastic day as we highlight our aims and celebrate all the women and girls within football in the town.

The aims of the campaign include:

· Create awareness – not every female who come to matches may encounter sexist attitudes, but that’s not to say it doesn’t happen.

· Education – Educate everyone that sexist behaviour won’t be tolerated and we are determined to make the football world welcoming for girls and women.

· Research – listening to fans’ viewpoints and creating strategies to help overcome the issues they face.

· Develop a strong sense of community – Create regular content to champion women in football across the town and the surrounding area.

· Create strong relationships with our partners.

· Create strong relationships with organisations and communities. We can work together to make a difference.

· Have a presence at football grounds and sports bars to build a more welcoming environment for young girls and women.

· Continue to campaign against sexism in football.

· Continue to campaign against online abuse.

A big part of the partnership was the setting up of a reporting system to allow fans to contact the Club and Her Game Too/Kick It Out whenever they receive sexist abuse, be it in the Prestige Group Stadium or online.

Posters are placed around the stadium with the contact details on, and they are also found in the matchday program.

We also have a WhatsApp supporter forum, which allows communication directly to us.

We welcome all reports, from women or men who experience or are witnesses to any harassment and can help eradicate this behaviour from the stands or grassroots playing fields.

We are also part of the HUFC Hart Of Our Club Youth Alliance and Hartlepool United Supporters Panel, with the aim of helping women and girls within the grassroots system and the supporters of HUFC.

We are again holding a ‘design a Her Game Too T-shirt’ competition.

This was a huge success last year and was the first competition of its kind within the campaign.

The winners will get their T-shirt printed for a player, and they will meet the players during the warm-up to the game.

How to enter: draw your designs on an A4 piece of paper (portrait) and hand into the club reception by 13th February – please include name, age and contact details! Good luck!
