Hartlepool United collected back-to-back away 1-1 draws when they earned a deserved share of the spoils at Altrincham.
Nathan Sheron gave Pools an early lead with a rasping finish before Lewis Banks equalised on 29 minutes.
Interim boss Lennie Lawrence made three changes, bringing in Billy Sass-Davies, Nathan Asiimwe and Saturday’s hero Adam Campbell replacing Luke Waterfall, Greg Sloggett and Roshaun Mathurin.
Pools made a bright start with Asiimwe and Campbell making some nice touches and on-loan Charlton wideman Asiimwe was involved in the opening goal.
Some good work down the right led to Sheron arriving in the box and smashing a left-foot shot into the right side of Ethan Ross’s goal.
Pools had settled well and there was another sight of goal on 17 minutes when Campbell shot over from a free-kick after ex-Pools midfielder Tom Crawford had chopped down Mani Dieseruvwe.
Altrincham threatened for the first time in the 19th minute when Justin Amaluzor fired wide of Brad Young’s left stick from the edge of the area.
But the hosts levelled just before the half-hour when the ball broke nicely for right-back Banks to squeeze his left-foot shot past Young into the goalkeeper’s left corner.
Pools almost regained the lead in the 39th minute when a deflected cross from the marauding Dan Dodds hit the home woodwork and keeper Ross clawed the loose ball away before Asiimwe had a shot blocked.
In first-half injury time, Ross made a diving save to his left from Campbell.
After the break, Kahrel Reddin had room to attack down the right but his low shot was well held by Young.
Pools posed some danger on 64 minutes when Dieseruvwe got to Asiimwe’s cross but the ball would not fall to Campbell in the area and the Robins cleared.
Lawrence sent on Luke Charman and Anthony Mancini with 10 minutes to go and the subs brought great energy to the sky blues.
Mancini forced a save from Ross at his near post and from the corner, the ball flashed across the home goal but Sheron was unable to convert at the far post.
Pools finished the contest as they started it and they looked the more likely scorers.
Joe Grey shot wide from the edge of the box in the 87th minute after a Dieseruvwe lay-off and, despite a late away flurry, they could not find a winner.
