Hartlepool United boss Nicky Featherstone hopes his side can return to winning ways tomorrow, asĀ they welcome Anstey Nomads to the Prestige Group Stadium in the Third Round of the Isuzu FA Trophy.Ā
Ahead of the clash against the Northern Premier League Midlands outfit, the Gaffer told local press: āWeĀ have toĀ go in there with the right mentality.Ā
“WeāveĀ got another opportunity tomorrow to start another unbeaten run and get back to winning ways, hopefully.Ā
āThere will be changes, but not wholesale changes. I want to do well in this competition. I want to take this competition very seriously – other than getting to the play–off final, it is the best route toĀ WembleyĀ for us.Ā
āThe Club has never been to Wembley, so let’sĀ see where we can go.āĀ
Following a 2-0 defeat at home to Yeovil Town last time out, Featherstone said:Ā ā(We were) disappointed naturally after the defeat againstĀ Yeovil.Ā ItāsĀ theĀ firstĀ setbackĀ really sinceĀ weāveĀ took over, andĀ that’sĀ all it is –Ā a setback.Ā Ā
āAnĀ opportunityĀ missed,Ā butĀ other than that, the lads have been brilliantĀ in the seven league games before that.āĀ
At the end of last weekendās game, tensions boiled over, which ledĀ to Jermaine Francis receiving a red card after the full-time whistle.Ā Ā
On FrancisāsĀ availability,Ā the Pools bossĀ confirmed the winger will miss the next three games, and added: ā(Itās) not ideal, itĀ leaves us a little bit short; aĀ reaction amongst a mass brawl, IĀ suppose.āĀ
However, in a more positive light, yesterday it was announced thatĀ Elliott Dickman signed a contract as First Team Coach until the end of the season,Ā with an option to extendĀ the deal.Ā Ā
FeatherstoneĀ expressed his delight to the press, saying,Ā āElliott was always going to be a part of it from my point of view. (Itās) brilliant to have him on board; he‘sĀ beenĀ absolutely brilliantĀ for meĀ sinceĀ IāveĀ been in charge.Ā
āAĀ real goodĀ day-to-day coach,Ā he’sĀ clear in his messages.Ā HeāsĀ a top coach with lots of experience around this area, soĀ IāmĀ buzzing to have him involved.āĀ
