Featherstone: “It will be a tough test.”

Nicky Featherstone previews Hartlepool United’s visit to Tamworth in the Enterprise National League tomorrow.

Speaking to local press ahead of the trip to The Lamb Ground, the Pools boss said:

The manager [Andy Peaks] has done a brilliant job there. It will be a tough test.

Like I keep saying, if we’re serious about this play-off charge then let’s go there trying to win the game.

“[There’s16 games, a lot of points to play for. Although there’s loads to improve on, there’s lots of work going on behind the scenes that will make us a better Club going forward.

There’ll be opportunities for us along the way, [we need to] take care of our business – but it’s still exciting times and we have the back third of season to go, [there’s] still plenty to play for.

Despite Pools suffering defeat last time out to Aldershot Town, the game saw the return of Gavan Holohan to the Prestige Group Stadium, along with a debut for Tyrese Sinclair.

Gav’s had a lack of game time, so he’ll get better, although he had a moment in the first half when he gets through one-on-one. He’ll get better and better as he plays more games.

Tyrese had moments and spells in the game where he looked a real threat. If we can supply him a little bit more than we did on Saturday, which I’m quite positive we will do over the course of the seasonhe’llbe a really good signing for us.

Featherstone also provided an update on Luke Charman and Matty Daly, who were absent for the match against the Shots.

Charms was back in on Monday. [It was a] real shame for Charms, he’s been massive since he’s come back from injury for us. He’ll be back involved on Saturday.

Matty is a bit more of a complex case. Family reasons so nothing I can go too much intobut hopefully he’ll back in the building soon.
