Darcy scores first senior goal

Pools defender Campbell Darcy scored his first senior goal on Tuesday night for Whitby Town, as the Seasiders claimed a 6-2 win at Hebburn Town.

The 18-year-old scored Whitby’s fourth of the night, meeting a corner on the volley and firing into the bottom right corner.

Darcy, who featured at right-back, lined up alongside former Hartlepool players Gary Liddle and Lewis Hawkins on Tuesday night. The defender has played every game since moving to the Northern Premier League side, with 11 appearances in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Louis Stephenson made his debut for Blyth Spartans on Wednesday night. He played the full 90 minutes at right-back in a 3-0 victory over Stockton Town, helping Spartans out of the relegation zone in the Northern Premier League.

And young goalkeeper Josh Mazfari kept his third consecutive clean sheet for Redcar Athletic in midweek with a 2-0 win over Tow Law Town. Redcar sit second in Northern League Division One, with Mazfari keeping seven clean sheets from the opening 13 games.

Max Storey in continuing to recover from his broken arm injury which he suffered on loan at Blyth Spartans at the end of August.
