AFC Fylde 3-1 Hartlepool UnitedÂ
Hartlepool United suffered a 3-1 defeat against AFC Fylde at Mill Farm in the Enterprise National League.
Will Harris fired Pools into an early lead inside five minutes, but three late second-half goals from Luke McCormick, Millar Matthews-Lewis and Jack Morris secured all three points for the Coasters.
Pete Wild made three changes to his starting XI, with Luke Charman returning to face his former club alongside Brooklyn Ilunga and Adam Smith.
Pools made the perfect start on three minutes when Max Clark picked out Harris inside the penalty area. The forward made no mistake, calmly stroking the ball beyond George Pickford to give the visitors an early advantage.
Cole Deeming came close to doubling Pools’ lead on 36 minutes after collecting Harris’ knock-down, but his effort from the edge of the area sailed over the crossbar.
Wild’s side threatened again early in the second half. Following a scramble inside the penalty area, substitute Chris Popov saw his close-range effort cleared off the line as Pools pushed for a second goal.
Fylde levelled the contest in the 76th minute when McCormick found space 10 yards from goal and fired into the bottom corner beyond Smith.
The hosts completed the turnaround just moments later, as substitute Matthews-Lewis reacted quickest to a loose ball before drilling his effort past the Pools goalkeeper.
Fylde sealed victory in the 90th minute when Morris tapped home from close range to wrap up all three points.
