New Hartlepool United goalkeeper Nathan Fisher says he is aiming to bring his experiences playing for Middlesbrough to Pools after becoming the latest addition to Lee Clarkās squad.
The 21-year-old has spent the past few weeks at the Club as a Trialist ā but he has officially penned a deal at Victoria Park after leaving Boro this summer.
āItās a really good feeling,ā he said.
āIāve really enjoyed my first couple of weeks here, so Iām looking forward to the start of the season ā and hopefully progressing with the club.ā
The goalkeeper spent five years playing for Middlesbroughās academy teams and being alongside Boroās first team ā and Fisher is looking to translate his experiences into performances at Victoria Park.
He continued: āIāve been at Middlesbrough for the last five years ā and Iāve worked alongside some of the best players in the Championship.
āIāve seen how they go about things day-by-day; whether itās their attention to detail, how professional they are with every little thing, or how obsessed they are with their performance.
āI think they are the kind of experiences that I am hopefully looking to bring to Hartlepool and add to the group.ā
Fisher started Poolsā pre-season friendlies against Redcar Athletic, Spennymoor Town and Hebburn Town as a Trialist ā and the 21-year-old discussed his excitement at continuing to be amongst the squad.
āThe last couple of weeks have been great,ā Fisher added.
āIāve loved training with Adam Smith [Goalkeeping Coach].
āWeāve got a good group of goalkeepers ā and the games have been great experiences to play in front of a crowd.
āOverall, Iāve really enjoying it so far.ā
Now confirmed as a Pools player, Fisher is keen to get going following discussions with Clark, Head of Recruitment Chris Beech, and Head of Football Operations at Bromby & Partners Chris Maxwell.
He said: āThereās a real kind of goal of where the football club wants to go ā and where itās aiming to go.
āSpeaking to Chris and Chris, and obviously the manager, I think theyāre putting the right steps in place for us to go and be where the Club wants to be.
āThe stuff behind the scenes, as well, is the kind of work thatās being done.
āHopefully, weāll get our reward for it.ā
