Community | Premier League Primary Stars

Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation is proud to continue delivering the Premier League Primary Stars programme across local primary schools, using the power of football to inspire children to be active, healthy and confident learners.

Premier League Primary Stars is the Premier League’s flagship primary school education programme, funded through the Premier League Charitable Fund via the National League Trust.

The programme supports teachers and schools to deliver high-quality PE, sport and educational activities, while also helping pupils to develop essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, communication and confidence.

This half-term, our delivery is being led by Craig Linsel, former Premier League Primary Stars Community Captain and current Lead Coach at Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation.

Craig is delivering a six-week block of PE lessons at Brougham Primary School, working closely with Year 5 pupils and staff to create fun, engaging and inclusive sessions.

The programme not only provides pupils with a full half-term of exciting PE lessons but also focuses on high-quality CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for teaching staff.

By working alongside teachers, Craig is supporting the development of their confidence, knowledge and practical delivery, ensuring the long-term impact of the programme continues beyond our direct involvement.

Each session is designed to be energetic, inclusive and accessible for all abilities, encouraging children to be physically active while developing fundamental movement skills and a love for sport.

Alongside this, teachers are gaining valuable insights, resources and coaching techniques that they can embed into their own lessons, strengthening the school’s PE provision for years to come.

Craig said: “Premier League Primary Stars is all about inspiring children and empowering teachers.

“Working with the staff and pupils at Brougham Primary School has been fantastic.

“The energy, enthusiasm and willingness to learn has been brilliant, and it’s great to see the children growing in confidence each week.”

Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation remains committed to supporting local schools through high-quality coaching, education and teacher development, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to enjoy sport, be active and reach their potential.
