A packed schedule for our youth teams this week…
Our SYTs are on home soil this Wednesday as they return to Northeast College League action, while our U17s are on the road in the National League. Rounding off the week, our U16s play at home Saturday.
Here’s the rundown on this week’s action…
U17s
Following last week’s historic 4-1 victory over Darlington, our U17s return to National League action this week, as they travel to Oldham Athletic on Wednesday (13:30pm).
Last week, a brace from Maxi Ellis and goals from Alfie Swift and Joe Duffield secured a second consecutive win for Gary Liddle’s side.
Our U17s sit sixth in the table with ten points after seven matches, victory over Oldham could see them rise as high as 2nd.
Wednesday’s opponents are 10th in the National League, with four points from six games. A win could put them just three points behind Pools.
The Latics earned their first win in five games last week with a 3-1 victory away at Pontefract Collieries.
U16s
Our U16s return to JPL Premier League action this week on home soil, as they welcome Goole AFC to Brierton Community Sports Centre.
Damian Shanahan’s side will look to continue their impressive league momentum, following a 3-0 win against the league leaders last time out.
Our newly formed U16s sit sixth in the table with four points after four games, a win could see them rise to 5th.
Saturday’s visitors are 3rd in the JPL Premier League with 11 points from five games, a win could propel them to 2nd, just one point behind the league leaders.
Last week, The Vikings breezed past Stockton Town with a 5-2 victory away from home.
SYT
Both our SYT’s are on home soil this week, participating in Northeast College League and National Football Youth League action.
Last time out, strikes from Floyd Jose, Ryan Varney and Evan Thompson sealed victory against Darlington MG in the NECL.
This week, they welcome Redcar to the Brierton Community Sports Centre, while our NFYL team face Blyth Spartans.
