Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation would like to offer a great thanks and appreciation to the Veterans Foundation who have funded our Armed Force Veterans Hub £10,000 over a two-year period.
Keith Nobbs, HUCSF Manager, said:
“The Veterans Hub provides a crucial connection and resources for veterans and their families, offering advice, help and support for those in need.
“Access services that can help them transition to civilian life and provide a safe environment where veterans and their families can mix and socialise, and particularly important to those experiencing isolation or loneliness.
“Peer-to-peer support, where veterans learn from each other, can also be a powerful way to address the unique challenges faced by veterans.
“It will also improve their mental health and well-being by providing quizzes, darts, boccia ball and be able to direct them to other events and activities throughout the program”.
The Veterans’ Foundation is one of the country’s leading military charities.
It was set up in 2016 to raise funds to help charities provide vital support to our armed forces’ community.
These include those serving, veterans and their families with a range of needs, including mental health, physical therapy and rehabilitation, homelessness and education and training.
Since 2016, the Foundation has awarded more than £28 million and awarded over 1,200 grants to more than 500 charities and charitable organizations that deliver life-changing projects across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Veterans’ Foundation administers the Veterans’ Lottery.
Tickets are £10 per month with a jackpot of £75,000.
It also maintains a Memorial Wall so friends and family can honour their heroes.
The Veterans’ Foundation raises funds through its Veterans’ Lottery, legacy gifts in wills, and donations.
