Matty Daly returns to Pools

Hartlepool United are happy to announce the return of Matty Daly on a permanent basis.

The 24-year-old midfielder returns to Pools three years after his initial loan spell at the Club in 2021.

Daly has over 150 career games under his belt, with the vast majority being in the EFL, including his loan with Pools in League Two.

After coming through the Huddersfield Town academy, Daly spent other loans at Bradford City and Harrogate Town, before joining the latter on a permanent basis.

On joining Pools, Daly said:

“I’m really happy to have come back.

“I’ve spoken to the gaffer [Simon Grayson] and players that have been here in the past 12 months, and it made me feel like I wanted to come back and be a part of something special this year.

Pools boss Simon Grayson said:

“We are delighted to have signed Matty.

“His experience will give us a different type of dimension in both the midfield and attacking areas.

“I am really pleased that we have managed to bring a player of his calibre back to Hartlepool United.”
