Hartlepool United Academy duo, Joe Aungiers and Alfie Steel, have joined West Auckland Town on short-term loan deals.

The youngsters will link up with Max Storey at The Wanted Stadium, who has been on loan at West Auckland since January.

Aungiers featured for the Pools first team in pre-season and has recently gained senior experience with Whitby Town.

Steel, meanwhile, has made five senior appearances at the Prestige Group Stadium, while having loan spells at Whitby and Ossett United in recent months.

The pair could be involved on Saturday afternoon as West Auckland travel to Penrith in Northern League Division One.
