Storey & Madine surprise Veterans Hub

Max Storey and Gary Madine made a surprise visit to our Community Foundation’s Veteran Hub session on Monday afternoon at the Prestige Group Stadium.

Storey, who is currently on loan at West Auckland Town, and Madine sat down and enjoyed some jokes with the Veterans on Monday afternoon.

The aim of the Hub is to bring Veterans together in a relaxed safe and social environment, enjoying free refreshments and conversation to combat loneliness and social isolation.

The Foundation’s John Dauncey takes the session every Monday, providing information to the Veterans and relevant upcoming events.

The Hub often plays host to guest speakers from varying support agencies including employability, training, physical and mental health, and specialised projects such as drugs and alcohol.

The Hub regularly run activities outside of the normal meeting days for both Veterans and their families. These include visits to museums, Remembrance events and organised sports sessions such as bowls, badminton and walking football.

The Hub is totally free to join. No matter what service you have been in, there is always a warm welcome with some service banter just waiting.

Date: Every Monday

Time: 2pm to 3pm

Venue: 1908 Bar at The Prestige Group Stadium
