Pools Women prepared for 2025

Hartlepool United Women’s coach Andy Stuart has provided a preview as his side look to get off to a positive start in 2025.

Pools are yet to play since the end of November, with bad weather seeing five games postponed on the bounce.

The side will be hoping their fortunes turn this Sunday as they’re scheduled for a league fixture away to Washington.

“The severe weather has dictated our league programme over recent weeks,” explained coach Andy Stuart.

“Whilst this has been incredibly frustrating for both the players and coaches, there is always a positive to be gained and in our case, we have been extremely busy with player recruitment over the festive period.

“This saw us bring in five new additions, and the cancellation of games has given us good time to integrate the players. The training sessions have been good, intense, and shown real quality.

“Overall, the players have remained focussed throughout the festive period and are now keen to get back to playing matches, with a collective view and determination to win games and finish the season as high as we can.

“There has also been a recent restructuring of the management team, due to work and personnel reasons, and there will be a further update on this soon.”
