Match Report | Pools 1-1 Wealdstone

Hartlepool United were held to a 1-1 draw at the Prestige Group Stadium by Wealdstone as they slip to tenth in the Enterprise National League

Reid fired from a tight angle early on before a curled effort from Nathan Tshikuna provided a quick response from the visitors.

Pools struck first after a lovely pinged ball over the top from Jamie Miley fell for Reid who struck past Dante Baptiste across goal.

Wealdstone replied three minutes later when Tshikuna drove forward into the box before his curled effort nestled into the top right corner.

Dom Hutchinson nearly made it two for The Stones after his powerful effort from the edge of the box was palmed away by George Evans.

Just past the half hour mark, a Matty Daly ball into the box caused problems in the middle, Wealstone failed to clear their lines however pools just couldn’t capitalise.

Daly had a chance to deliver a chance of his own before half-time, after a blistering run the forwards shot deflected off Jack Cook for a corner.

To open the second half, Pools had another chance to place himself on the scoresheet after Jamie Miley’s chipped ball fell to Reid whose effort from close was palmed away.

Adam Campbell, past the hour, had a strike from the edge after the ball ricocheted into his path – his shot however was once more parried by the keeper.

Max Kouogun was up next for Pools after the defenders run from his own half lead to a low effort just shy of the post.

To Conclude, Reid’s shot inside the box was palmed into Besart Topallaj whose effort was redirected by Danny Johnson into the net, however the linesman’s flag was up.
