Career Biography

Versatile attacker Lewis Alessandra joined Pools at the end of June 2016 after agreeing a departure from Rochdale.

The Manchester-born star began his career with Oldham Athletic after coming through the ranks at Boundary Park and went on to make 76 senior appearances for The Latics.

Comfortable in a variety of roles either in a central striking position or out wide, Alessandra moved on to Morecambe in 2011 where he made just under 100 appearances during a two-year stay.

A hugely successful stint with Plymouth Argyle followed, during which the talented front man netted 25 goals in 101 outings for The Pilgrims.

That form earned him a move in to League One with Rochdale in the summer of 2015 but things didn’t work out as he’d hoped and he ended last season impressing on loan with York City.
