Dementia Friends

Hartlepool United underlined their commitment to people living with dementia in our community by signing a Dementia Friendly Charter in March 2017.

The Club had already spent time undertaking a Dementia Friends session to ensure staff at Victoria Park can better serves Pools fans living with dementia.

This partnership and commitment was cemented by the signing of the Charter, which was done on the pitch prior to our game with Wycombe Wanderers.

Michael Evans, who also plays Club mascot H’Angus the Monkey, further underlined his support for Dementia Friends by taking on extra training to become a Dementia Champion.

That qualification means that Michael can now deliver Dementia Friends sessions to the public and we’ll be hosting regular events like these at Victoria Park.
