Last season’s top scorer and joint Manager’s Player of the Year has proved a constant menace for defenders having found the net 26 times during 2017/18 – often in spectacular fashion. Bates – who can also play on the wing or in central midfield - has been with Pools since she was 14 though she did have a season with rivals Norton & Stockton Ancients in 2014.
