Midfield schemer Nicky Deverdics joined Pools in the summer of 2016 after enjoying an excellent season in the National League with Dover Athletic.
The talented midfielder was one of The Whites’ major stars during 2015/16, during which he scored sixteen goals as they made it to the play-off semi-finals.
Born in Newcastle, Deverdics began his career as a trainee with The Magpies before moving on to take in spells with Gateshead and Bedlington Terriers.
However, it was with Gretna that he enjoy his first successes as he played a key role in the club’s charge from Division Three to the top flight of Scottish football where he went on to make 26 appearances.
He then spent two years at Barnet, rattling up another 51 appearances before spells with Blyth Spartans and Alfreton Town prior to stints abroad in Iceland with BI/Bolungravik and in the Faroe Islands with TB Tvoroyi.
Deverdics then returned to England with Dover in 2014 where he did enough to earn a contract following a successful trial and he would soon establish himself as a key played at the Crabble Athletic Ground.
After scoring his first two goals for the Club with a spectacular set-piece and an overhead kick, Deverdics spent a month back on loan at Dover before returning to Pools to play his part in the run-in.
