After a series of highly-impressive loan spells, dominant defender Harrison made his switch from Sunderland permanent at the end of the January 2015 transfer window.
The whole-hearted and aggressive centre-back first came to Pools during 2013/14 and had been on loan with the Club again last term before leaving The Black Cats to sign terms at The Vic.
After joining permanently, Harrison was among the leaders in the squad as Pools clawed their way clear of relegation trouble, showing his quality both in the air and on the deck.
The Middlesbrough-born defender put in a particularly commanding series of displays during March and also scored a crucial winner against Cambridge United to claim the prestigious Football League Young Player of the Month award.
The silverware didn’t stop there for Harrison either – for at the end of the season he was crowned both Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Year for 2014/15.
He struggled to hit top form in 2015/16 and was originally released by Craig Hignett at the end of last term but he returned for pre-season training and did enough to earn a new contract which he signed in August.
Harrison did well enough during the last campaign to earn another new deal with the Club and he will be hoping to be at the heart of Pools’ challenge for a return to the EFL in 2017/18.
