Experienced centre-back Michael Raynes signed on loan for Pools for the rest of the season from Crewe Alexandra in January.
The 31-year-old Manchester-born defender has now made over 400 league appearances during a career which began at Stockport County but has taken in spells with Scunthorpe United, Rotherham United, Mansfield Town and Carlisle United.
Raynes was offered the skipper’s armband at Carlisle after helping them to the League Two play-offs in 2016/17 but opted to move on to Crewe during the summer where he quickly became a regular.
However, he’s been out of the team in recent months and so Alex boss Dave Artell has given the green light for him to move on loan and he made his Pools debut in the televised game at Harrogate Town.
