Having joined Hartlepool in August 2020, Ferguson was named club captain ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
The left-back played for Darlington and Sunderland early in his career before appearing in the Championship for Blackpool. He also earned three caps for the England C team in 2017 following a spell at Shildon and return to Darlington.
Ferguson enjoyed three years with York City between 2017 and 2020, playing more than 100 games. He then switched to Hartlepool and played a vital role as Pools were promoted to League Two, earning a place in the 2021 National League Team of the Season.
