A Canadian international who joined Pools in March 2019 after signing a deal to stay at The Super 6 Stadium until the end of this term with a view to next season.
The vastly-experienced centre-back was born in Ontario but returned to England at 14 when he signed for Newcastle United where he graduated from the Academy to make his senior debut on Boxing Day 2006.
Having made 19 First Team appearances for The Magpies, Burnley paid £300,000 for his services in 2009 and he made his Clarets debut in a League Cup tie against Pools.
Also comfortable in midfield if called upon, Edgar made over 100 appearances for Burnley before moving to Birmingham City and also playing on loan for Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United.
By that time he had become a fully-fledged Canada international and returned to the country of his birth to sign for Vancouver Whitecaps in 2016 before spells with Nashville FC and more recently Ottawa Fury.
