The left-back moved to Hartlepool in July 2022 having spent his whole career in his native Scotland.
He turned professional with Celtic and spent a total of nine years with the Scottish giants, as well as earning experience on loan at Queen's Park and Airdrieonians.
After playing 15 times for Pools in the first half of the 2022/23 season, Paterson returned to his homeland with a short-term loan move to Cove Rangers.
