Experienced midfielder Nicky Featherstone arrived as then-boss Paul Murray’s first signing in October 2014, initially signing a short-term deal with the Club.
However, his form in the centre of the park has blossomed since then and he became an integral part of the engine room, particularly upon the arrival of Craig Hignett as Manager in February 2016.
Comfortable and composed in possession, Featherstone is now the Club’s longest-serving player having passed 200 appearances in all competitions during 2019/20.
Having started his career with Hull City, he moved on to Hereford United in 2011 on a permanent deal after impressing during a loan spell with The Bulls.
After making almost 60 appearances for the Edgar Street outfit, Featherstone returned to the Football League with Walsall where he spent two years.
In 2015/16 he played 52 games in all competitions – with Jake Carroll the only man in the squad to complete more minutes in the campaign than the dependable midfielder.
Featherstone was again among the top outfield appearance-makers last season and went on to sign a new contract with the Club during the summer.
