The young centre-back signed his first professional contract with the Club in the summer of 2014 after impressing the hierarchy during his spell in the youth set-up.
Nearney joined the Club at Under 16 level from Middlesbrough and quickly earned the reputation for being a strong, dominating defender who is also capable of getting the ball down and playing.
Nearney has been a regular in the Reserve side for the last two seasons and also spent a short spell on loan with non-league Darlington during 2014/15 before making his senior debut for Pools as a substitute against Sheffield United in September 2015.
A graduate of the renowned Wallsend Boys Club, the youngster has a real physical presence which he can put to good use in both penalty areas.
Whilst Nearney came through the ranks playing the majority of his football as a centre-back, more recent times have seen him utilised with success at right-back.
He struggled to earn a First Team spot last season and spent time out on loan and spent time on loan at Whitley Bay but will be hoping for a breakthrough during 2017/18.
