Everyone involved with Hartlepool United is heartbroken at the news that, after what has already been a really tough couple of weeks, we have now lost one of our dearest friends Doris Ford who has passed away suddenly at the age of 88.
Doris has been involved in the club volunteering and working for 67 years. A founding committee member of the Corner Flag Supporters Association and the Clubs First lottery agent for “Pools on the Move”.
Doris received the club hero award in 2015 and even up until our last home game against Ebbsfleet was volunteering her services and helping with the Catering Orders.
Not only this but Doris would visit the offices at the club every Friday without fail bearing food parcels for all of the office staff, and spending time in each office variously making sure we were all ok but also keeping us in line.
It feels like we have lost a mum, a grandma and a great friend and words cannot describe the gratitude we feel for not only Doris’ contribution to the club but her love and support across generations of staff at Hartlepool United.
Our deepest sympathies go out to all of Doris’ family at this very difficult time.
Sleep Well Doris, Rest in Peace.
