Dave Challinor has admitted that Michael Raynes could be facing a spell on the sidelines after injuring his thigh during Tuesday night’s win over Eastleigh.
The centre-back hobbled off just ten minutes in to the Victoria Park encounter and Pools’ problems were compounded after the break when Fraser Kerr was also forced off through injury.
“Raynesy has done his quad,” Challinor told Pools TV.
“I think when someone has done something and they’ve done it properly they know – and he knew, so I don’t envisage it being short-term unfortunately.
“With Fraser, he went to win a header but the wind got hold of it and he’s moved quickly and jarred his back so we’ve given him some medication and we’ll see how it settles down.
“If we need to look at things in a defensive area we will but we were actively looking to strengthen the squad, though whether that will happen before the weekend I don’t know.”
