The young winger arrived at Pools in January 2018 on loan from Sunderland for the rest of the season and went on to sparkle during 16 subsequent appearances.
A versatile performer who is comfortable on either flank or even in a more central position, his direct style, pace and trickery made him a firm favourite with fans.
His injury-time goal against Dover Athletic in March will live long in the memory, helping Craig Hignett’s recover from two goals down to secure a sensational 3-2 win.
Given his ability and form, many expected him to be out of Pools’ reach during the summer so the news of him signing a permanent deal following his release from Sunderland was met with huge positivity.
Molyneux had spent the first half of last season on loan at Gateshead after being a regular in Sunderland Under-23s team in 2017/18 and also making his senior Black Cats bow on the final day.
