Pools stumped up an undisclosed fee to Gateshead to bring giant centre-back Fraser Kerr to the Club in February 2019.
The 6ft 4ins defender had come through the ranks at Birmingham City before securing a switch to Motherwell in 2013 at the end of a successful loan stint at Fir Park.
After making 50 appearances for Motherwell he moved on for spells at Cowdenbeath and Stenhousmuir before earning a move back to English football with Gateshead in the summer of 2018.
He went on to become one of the regulars at the back for The Tynesiders as they emerged as unlikely candidates for promotion from the National League.
Pools boss Craig Hignett had placed Kerr at the top of his target list for the summer but the Club decided to accelerate their move for the dominant Scot and he made nine appearances last term.
