It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the sudden passing of one of our longest serving stewards, James Corner.
James always brought maxmium dedication to his role and Hartlepool United Football Club.
When football started again after lockdown, James was part of a small dedicated group that volunteered to work behind closed doors fixtures, putting himself forward despite the risk to his health.
Rain or shine, James could be found on Clarence Road on matchdays, controlling the road closure and proudly shouting over the radio that the away team bus had arrived.
He was a credit to Hartlepool United and will be sorely missed by friends, colleagues and supporters alike.
Please join us for one last closure as we hold a minutes silence ahead of Saturday's fixture against Woking to celebrate his life and honour him.
James' funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm at Holy Trinity Church, followed by interment at West View Cemetery.
