After a disappointing result on Saturday, Hartlepool United are looking to get back to winning ways with a visit to Altrincham on Tuesday evening (7:45pm kick-off).
Altrincham are currently 12th in the National League after two wins, five draws, and two losses so far. They're without a win in four matches, with their last victory coming against Chesterfield on August 26. The Robins are managed by Phil Parkinson and two of their players, Jake Cooper and Eddy Jones, have spent time with Pools previously. Both played at the Suit Direct Stadium on loan in the 2021/22 season, making a combined total of eight appearances.
Pools are on the hunt for three points after back-to-back defeats, though they still sit sixth in the league, just seven points behind leaders Chesterfield. Last time out, John Askey's side tasted their first home loss of the season to Woking.
The sides have met just three times before, with Altrincham unbeaten in all three matches. In the 2020/21 season, the sides played out two 1-1 draws, and before that, the Robins won 2-0 in the FA Cup back in 1973. The aforementioned Jake Cooper featured on the bench for Pools in the most-recent clash.
After a comeback from injury, Alex Lacey had to leave the action early on Saturday following a clash of heads. Pools will be hopeful that he'll be back soon, especially given the current injury situation. Osazee Aghatise made his debut from the bench on Saturday, and he'll be hoping for further minutes after recently joining Askey's side.
Dan Dodds, Anthony Mancini and Callum Cooke remain unavailable following long-term injuries.
