After spending Boxing Day at the Suit Direct Stadium, Hartlepool United travel to Oldham Athletic on Saturday for their final fixture of 2023 (3pm kick-off).
Pools are currently 16th in the table, eight points behind Saturday's hosts. A drop in form has seen John Askey's men slide down the National League. Anthony Mancini's return to the side is sure to be a boost, with the Frenchman one of several key players to have long-term injuries this season.
Oldham are just three points off the play-offs, though they'll be without Alex Reid after his recent suspension. Former Fleetwood and Tranemere manager, Micky Mellon, has former Poolies on his books with Mark Kitching, Mark Shelton and Mike Fondop.
This weekend's fixture is the 72nd between the sides, with Pools winning 22, 15 matches ending in a draw, and Oldham notching 34 victories.
Before this season, the last two meetings finished in goalless draws. Pools' last victory came away from home on Boxing Day in 2011 through James Poole's early strike.
Mani Dieseruvwe is expected to miss at least a month of action after coming off with an injury at Wealdstone. Zak Johnson also remains unavailable, along with Charlie Seaman, Alex Lacey and Dan Dodds.
Tom Crawford and Luke Hendrie have shown good progress in training, and the pair could be in line to make a return in the coming weeks.
Anthony Mancini returned from his fourth-month hamstring injury on Boxing Day, playing 20 minutes as a substitute.
