After three wins out of three at home, Hartlepool United are ready to welcome Wealdstone to the Suit Direct Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
The defeat to Chesterfield on Bank Holiday Monday has dampened spirits slightly, but three wins out of three at home is still cause for optimism for John Askey. Gateshead, Maidenhead and Fylde have all been defeated at the Suit Direct, with Wealdstone now in Pools' sights.
Wealdstone have won twice, drawn twice, and lost twice in their six games this season, and last time out, they lost 2-0 to Dagenham & Redbridge. Led by Stuart Maynard, the Stones' side features former Poolie Fela Olomola in attack.
Josh Umerah joined Pools from Wealdstone last summer after scoring 17 goals in the National League during the 2021/22 season.
The sides have only met twice, with Pools winning both fixtures. In January 2021, Pools won 3-1 at home thanks to goals from Luke Armstrong, Rhys Oates, and Nicky Featherstone.
Three months later, Pools ran out winners again, claiming a 7-2 win thanks to another goal for Featherstone and a brace from Oates, as well as a Richie Bennett hat-trick and a Mark Shelton strike.
The 7-2 win kept Pools top, a point ahead of eventual champions Sutton United.
Kieran Wallace made his full debut on Monday after his comeback from injury, while Josh Umerah was also available after his suspension. Dan Dodds and Anthony Mancini will be unavailable after suffering long-term injuries.
