Keith Curle takes charge of Hartlepool United for the first time on Saturday as Pools welcome Gillingham to the Suit Direct Stadium (3pm KO).
The Opposition
Gillingham sit 22nd in the League Two table after a solitary win this season. The side is led by Neil Harris, record goalscorer and former manager at Millwall.
The History
This will be the 37th meeting between the sides, with Pools winning 11 of the previous matches. Gillingham have won 16 matches and nine games have ended in a draw.
The sides last met in November 2018 when Pools lost 4-3 despite goals from Carl Magnay, Paddy McLaughlin, and Tyrone O'Neill. Now-Poolie Alex Lacey appeared for the Gills in the match, appearing as a last-minute substitute.
Team News
Midweek, stand-in manager Tony Sweeney made five changes to the side that lost at Sutton United, and it'll be up to Curle as to which players are selected. Josh Umerah sat our the game at Morecambe, but the forward should return to the side for the Gills' visit.
