After a penalty shootout win over Solihull Moors, Hartlepool United host Harrogate Town in the second round of the FA Cup on Saturday (3pm KO).
The Opposition
Harrogate are currently 20th in League Two and progressed to the second round after defeating Bradford City in the first round. Former Pools loanee Matty Daly got the goal to overcome the Bantams, and he's one of two former Poolies to feature for the Sulphurites.
Luke Armstrong leads the line for Harrogate, and the forward is fondly remembered for his contributions during Pools' 2020/21 promotion season. His goals throughout the season culminated in a goal in the Promotion Final.
The History
The sides have met just 11 times previously, with Pools winning three times, Harrogate winning five times, and three games ending in a draw. They've already played twice this season, with Harrogate winning at home in the league and Pools winning at home in the Papa John's Trophy.
Team News
Jamie Sterry and Alex Lacey remain sidelined with long-term injuries, while Tom Crawford has recently undegone surgery for a recurring issue. Mohamed Niang, Rollin Menayese, and Mark Shelton are getting closer to a return, but Keith Curle is, for now, continuing with a depleted squad.
Josh Umerah is set to return after missing last week's fixture due to suspension.
