Pools sign Euan Murray

24 June 2022

Hartlepool United are delighted to announce the signing of defender Euan Murray. The 28-year-old joins us after recently leaving Kilmarnock and joins Pools ahead of their pre-season trip to Portugal.

A product of the Motherwell academy, Murray has spent time north of the border with Arbroath, Clyde, Stenhousemuir, Raith Rovers, Dunfermline Athletic, and, most recently, Kilmarnock.

In England, Murray has played for Barrow and Southport, and he’s also featured for Western United in Solomon Islands’ Telekom S-League. Murray earned one cap for Scotland’s U18s, playing 90 minutes as Scotland defeated Serbia 4-1.

Paul Hartley added:

Delighted to bring Euan in. He’s got real leadership qualities. He’s been a part of a title winning team and he is hungry for more success. We’re excited to work with him over this busy period.

Euan added:

Delighted to sign for this great club. After speaking with the manager there was only one destination for me. I see myself as a leader and I am excited to meet all the boys and get started.

The defender joins us subject to international clearance.
