Hartlepool United can today confirm all the details ahead of our first-round Carabao Cup match against Blackburn Rovers. The fixture will take place on Wednesday 10th August (7.45pm KO) at Ewood Park.
There will be no extra-time in the first five rounds of the competition, with games going straight to a penalty shootout if the score is level after 90 minutes.
Blackburn were knocked out at this stage of the competition last season to Morecambe and are former winners of the cup, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in 2002.
Liverpool are the holders of the competition having triumphed over Chelsea on penalties in the final at Wembley earlier this year.
