Club Statement - Ticketing Procedures for 2022/23

19 July 2022

The Club would like to reiterate some key policies in relation to the purchase of tickets for the 2022/23 season and elaborate on the reasoning behind these decisions.

Under 14s will not be allowed entry to The Suit Direct Stadium without an accompanying adult. Following a review of Club Safeguarding policies carried out throughout the EFL in partnership with Barnardos, the age for unaccompanied children attending games at The Suit Direct Stadium has increased from 12 to 14. The Club feels that this is in the best interest for the safety of our young fans and thank the ELF/Barnados for providing resources to ensure we are equipped to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults in all areas of our operations, from the Academy to matchday experience.

Relevant ID will be required for all concessionary tickets. Unfortunately, we have seen an increase in the number of fans abusing the reduced-price concession tickets which ultimately affects the income to the Club. It is not always easy to recognise or identify those who are taking advantage of our concession policy, especially during busy periods, and so an across the board policy has been implemented to reduce opportunity for abuse.

We appreciate that not all young people have ID which they can easily carry about, or that parents want to risk being lost, which is why we are encouraging fans to email their identification to tickets@hartlepoolunited.co.uk or upload it to their online account. This enables us to store an electronic copy on each individual account, meaning that we will not need to see this identification again  (except for in the cases of Student ID or disability benefits which may have an expiry date).

On matchdays, if no electronic identification is stored on file we will require identification to be presented to purchase or collect all concession tickets. To clarify, concession tickets are classed as, under 14, under 18, 18-21, student, armed forces and seniors. This is also applicable for fans claiming free under 5 tickets.  There will be no exceptions.

The above will also support us in enforcing point 1.

Home fans must be registered on our database to purchase tickets.

With the introduction of a loyalty points structure for high priority games for 2022/23, we require tickets to be purchased in individual names to ensure that points are allocated correctly.

If you have purchased tickets from us at any point online or in person and provided your name and address you will have an account with us. If you have not, you can set up an account here Hartlepool United FC (venuetoolbox.com)

When purchasing tickets online, please ensure you familiarise yourself with our ticketing system to prevent duplicate accounts which may result in issues with loyalty points. These issues cannot be rectified retrospectively.

We understand that fans experienced longer than usual queues at our friendly against Lincoln and would always encourage fans to purchase tickets in advance wherever possible. If you are unable to purchase in advance, please ensure you are aware of the above policies and appreciate that your experience in the ticket office may take longer than usual as fans adapt to new procedures.

Please note: we will not tolerate abuse of any member of staff and reserve the right to refuse sales of tickets or entry into the ground should any fan be found to be engaging in unacceptable behaviour towards our team.
