Hartlepool United return to home soil on Tuesday as Tranmere Rovers visit the Suit Direct Stadium.
The Opposition
Tranmere currently sit 15th in League Two after winning one of their opening three matches. Last time out, they claimed their maiden win of the new season, defeating Gillingham 3-0.
Led by manager Micky Mellon, the side features two former Poolies in defender Neill Byrne and midfielder Josh Hawkes.
The History
This will be the 129th meeting between the sides, with Pools winning 42 of the previous encounters. Tranmere have won 58 times, while 28 matches have ended in a draw.
Last time the sides met, Pools won 1-0 at home thanks to an own goal. Whenever Tranmere are mentioned, fans think back fondly of the play-off semi finals in 2005 when Richie Humphreys’ penalty sent Pools to Cardiff.
Team News
Joe Grey and Mika Ndjoli are continuing their recoveries from injury, so will be touch and go for the home double-header. New signing Wes McDonald is likely to be available after joining from Morecambe, while Josh Umerah will want to continue where he left off against Northampton.
