Hartlepool United launch official club partnership programme.
In line with the majority of EFL and Premier league football clubs, Hartlepool United are proud to release details of its first official club partnership programme.
The programme will consist of 3 tiers, with each tier offering bespoke commercial inventory relevant to the tier and level of investment.
Chief Operating Officer, Stephen Hobin, speaking on the launch said:
“At this level of football, the strength of a commercial partnership programme is essential to enable the club to grow financially while at the same time supporting our commercial partners to grow their business and build brand awareness. As with any new venture of this kind the first stage is to migrate our current sponsors into the appropriate tier and provide them with official partnership status to help us launch the programme. Traditionally with a 3-tiered partnership programme, tier 1 will always be your principal club partners and in our case, we are delighted to have two as we formally launch Orangebox Training Solutions and the Prestige Group into the top tier.
Tier 2 will be Official Partnership status which is for businesses who hit the entry level of investment to unlock a mixture of rights. This moves us away from traditional football advertising where clubs sell some advertising space, don’t activate the partnership, and then look to renew at the end of the season and hope the client is happy in doing so.
Tier 3 is the entry level to the portfolio, and this will include a mixture of official club suppliers, media partners and partnerships some of which may be in exchange for products which also helps reduce expenditure and increases cash flow. So, while tiers 1 and 2 provide vital cash investment to the football club, some partnerships in the third tier provide us with significant savings which have a large impact on the bottom line.
It is important to state that outside of the partnership portfolio there will still be the opportunity for local businesses to purchase traditional forms of advertising as in previous seasons, whether this be advertising boards, programmes, match sponsorships etc, all of which are equally important and valued by the football club.
Moving forward all new official partnerships will be for a minimum of 2 years in duration which will help the football club project future cashflow and assist with the football clubs budgeting, Traditional advertising purchases will still be available on a seasonal basis subject to available inventory.
