Wind and rain conditions played their part from the start but it was the hosts with the big first chance of the game. Two minutes in Williamson's effort was well saved by Ravas to deny Bromley taking an early lead.

An end to end game saw Pools' first chance come after 12 minutes. Donaldson drove down the right hand side, cut onto his left foot and his low strike was saved well.

Five minutes later the hosts had the ball in the back of the net but Cheek was deemed offside before he took his shot. Then on 29 minutes Bromley should have been ahead. A crossed ball to the backpost was met by the head of Arthurs but it was just wide.

The hosts got their goal on 40 minutes. Frankie Raymond's cross is headed in by Jude Arthurs from close range. Goal comes from the right while Donaldson is off the field. Bromley went into the break 1-0 up.

The second half started with Pools searching for an equaliser, Nicky Featherstone picked up the ball on the edge of the box but his shot was wide.

Ten minutes later, Dave Challinor's men couldn't believe they hadn't scored. A double save from Cousins denied Armstrong from close range as the Bromley GK put in a MOTM performance.

71 minutes gone and Cousins kept Bromley in the game again. Sterry with a deep cross to the backpost where Holohan was waiting but his header was saved by the GK.

Against the run of play, Bromley nearly had a second on 80 minutes. A cross into the box found Alabi free at the back post and he was denied by an unbelievable save from Ravas.

Things went from bad to worse for Pools five minutes later. Liddle picked up his second yellow card and sent off in the last few moments of the game.
