After getting back to winning ways by defeating Aldershot last weekend, Hartlepool United travel to top-of-the-table Sutton United to play in front of the BT Sport cameras. Pools have lost just two games in their last 19 and they'll want to avoid any more defeats in the race for promotion.
The Opposition
Sutton have won four of their last five games, defeating Aldershot,
Weymouth, Woking, and Maidenhead. Their only dropped points in that time came
as they lost out to Notts County after Ruben Rodrigues' last-minute penalty. The team has been led by Matt Gray since 2019 and the team
features key man Harry Beautyman, as well as Australian goalkeeper Dean
Bouzanis and striker Omar Bugiel, a goalscorer in a previous game against
Pools.The History
This will be the eighth meeting between the sides, with
Pools winning just one of the previous encounters. Four games have ended in a
draw, while the Us have claimed all three points in the other matches. Most
recently, Dave Challinor's men ran out 1-0 winners in January after a fine
strike by Rhys Oates.Team News
After having key players return to the starting 11 against
Aldershot, Challinor will have a decision to make on whether to freshen his
team up against the champions-elect. Tom White has now returned to Blackburn
Rovers after his loan spell ended and there are no new injuries or suspensions
to report.Ben Killip and Joe Grey are long-term absentees.
